Pregnant mamas + Thai Yoga Massage = a perfect yummy match!  Over the weekend we experienced a fabulous Prenatal course at Denver Integrative Massage School.

The side-lying sequence just seems to be made for pregnancy!  We covered that as well as Supine Massage, which with modification and slight elevation is absolutely appropriate for pregnancy as well. While covering other very important things such as contraindicated pressure points and applicable sequences, we (including the guys) also got to try out faux baby bumps, as you can see in the photo!

We also had the wonderful Physical Therapist, Tanya Sheppard, for a few hours of the day. She was able to explain some great self – care for our clients, including creative ways of moving from the Thai Mat to standing and strengthening for hips and lower body.

The class was so much fun and incredibly useful! We learned why pregnant women love Thai Yoga Massage! Our students are excited to start seeing a range of clients including the pregnant mommy population!

After having completed my amazing journey through the world of Thai Yoga Massage and a full 600 hr CMT program at Denver Integrative Massage School, I am ready to see clients!!  I am so grateful to have been a part of the family that developed during the inaugural semester at Denver Integrative Massage School.  I speak for many of us when I express how grateful I am to Hillary for having the vision to create such an affordable, unique school that has allowed me to change my path in life. Also, not to go unmentioned are the fantastic teachers that were involved in sharing their experiences to create the best learning environment.

Licensed and armed with an array of techniques and tools I am so ready to see clients! I chose Sati Soul as the name of my business because Sati is a Pali word meaning mindfulness. I hope to incorporate a sense of mindful care into all of my sessions. I work out of several locations and am ready to book anytime!

Thai Yoga Massage is an incredibly layered and deeply therapeutic style of massage. It treats many different body types and addresses a wide variety of physical needs. Just some of the reasons Thai Yoga Massage is a style that goes beyond a typical massage:

  • By providing deep stretching and Acustretch, Thai Massage is able to act proactively as one of the best Sports Massages available.
  • Ingrained into Thai Massage is the use of shaking to distract muscles so they relax, similar to that of the Trager Method
  • Sought out Western techniques such as Myofascial release and deep tissue work are infused into sessions.

Many Physical Therapists are gaining interest in Thai Yoga Massage because they can add it to their practice to combine stretch and massage. A lot of Physical Therapists are arranged by time for insurance billing and Thai Yoga Massage allows for so many techniques in a short amount of time!

Upon graduation, our students are best suited to work alongside Physical Therapists, Chiropractors and other medical practitioners because of the Thai Yoga Massage emphasis we provide in our 600 hr CMT program.
